FUJI BJJ Results
On December 13, 2025, the UW Health Sports Factory in downtown Rockford hosted its first-ever FUJI BJJ Open, and the turnout was massive. Nearly 500 athletes from all over the region competed in one of the most exciting and well-run events Rockford has seen to date. The tournament welcomed competitors ages 4 and up, with divisions available for all skill levels in both gi and no-gi divisions.
For many local competitors, this was an opportunity to test themselves against high-level talent without leaving their hometown. And for Black Flag Jiu-Jitsu, it was a historic day. The academy walked away with three titles: Adults Best Academy, Best Academy Overall, and Best Association. In addition, Black Flag placed third in the Kids Best Academy division, proving that their youth program continues to develop future champions.

Head Coach Aaron Lynde was instrumental in helping FUJI BJJ choose Rockford as the site of this event. “Bringing a large organization like FUJI BJJ to Rockford says a lot about our community and how much it has grown,” said Lynde. “I was able to help them find a venue, and they took care of the rest. Of course, I’m proud of my students and their performances, but what really blew me away was how many local academies were represented well and the incredible sportsmanship of everyone in the room. Can’t wait until they come back next year!”
The success of the event and the overwhelming participation highlight a growing appetite for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and grappling sports in the Rockford area.
For those who missed this event, stay tuned. If the turnout and enthusiasm were any indication, FUJI BJJ will be back in Rockford soon.
