Black Flag Jiu-Jitsu and Go Forth made an impact at Combat Sports Report in Chicago with standout performances and a full gear booth.
This past weekend, Chicago hosted one of the most exciting new grappling events in the Midwest—Combat Sports Report, a stacked professional jiu-jitsu showcase featuring top athletes from around the country. Black Flag Jiu-Jitsu and the Pedigo Submission Fighting team showed up in full force, and our very own Jeff Larsen made waves in the Middleweight division with an impressive performance.
Jeff Larsen’s Performance
Jeff came into the middleweight bracket ready to prove himself, and he did just that. In his first match, Jeff faced a powerful collegiate wrestler and came out with a hard-earned victory, showing his ability to adapt and shut down high-level takedown threats. In his second match, he went head-to-head with a strong brown belt competitor and secured another win, advancing to the semi-finals with an arm-bar that got the crowed rocking.
Though Jeff’s run ended there against a highly experienced black belt, his performance spoke volumes. Two dominant wins, smart strategy, and technical execution. Jeff showed that the systems we train at Black Flag and PSF work at every level.
PSF Dominates with Couch and Murdock
The Combat Sports Report wasn’t just big for Jeff—it was a huge event for the Pedigo Submission Fighting team overall. Jacob “The Hillbilly Hammer” Couch took home the cash prize in the Middleweight division, further proving PSF’s presence among the top no-gi teams in the country.
In the Lightweight division, CJ Murdock delivered a masterclass on composure and technique, working his way through the bracket and claiming the $1,500 prize. CJ’s ability to adapt mid-match and impose his game on any opponent shows the depth of talent and coaching that exists within our PSF affiliation.
Go Forth Booth Brings the Heat
On the sidelines, but just as impactful, Go Forth, our Rockford-based jiu-jitsu apparel brand, had a booth set up at the event. Attendees had the chance to shop fan-favorite rash guards, no-gi shorts, and lifestyle apparel, all designed for grapplers who live by their own rules. The booth drew tons of attention throughout the day, helping spread the Go Forth brand to new athletes, coaches, and fans from across the Midwest and beyond.
For many attendees, it was their first time feeling the high-quality gear in person—and the feedback was clear: people loved the bold designs, durability, and attitude the brand brings to the mats.
