ROCKFORD – The next few months are stacked with opportunities for our competitors to challenge themselves and showcase what makes our team special. Heres a look at at our upcoming tournament schedule for our competitors.
No-Gi PANS – October
The next major stop for our competition team is the IBJJF No-Gi Pan Championships, one of the most prestigious tournaments in the sport. This event brings together top grapplers from around the world, and our athletes are preparing to put their skills to the test against elite competition. No-Gi PANS is not just about individual success, it’s a chance for Black Flag to solidify our presence on the national stage and continue our tradition of high-level performances.
IBJJF Opens – Chicago and St. Louis
In addition to PANS, we’re looking at competing in 1–2 IBJJF Opens. Chicago and possibly St. Louis. These events allow our athletes to gain valuable ranking points while staying active in high-level competition. The Opens also provide a great proving ground for newer competitors to gain IBJJF experience in preparation for larger tournaments.
Fuji Bloomington – September
In September, we’ll head to Fuji Bloomington with one clear goal: bringing home the team trophy for our affiliate, PSF Bloomington. Fuji events have always been a great platform for our students to compete in a supportive environment, and this particular tournament gives us the chance to show the strength of our entire program, from kids to adults.
Fuji Rockford – December
We’ll close out the year with a hometown battle, the Fuji Rockford tournament in December. This is the first time a Fuji Event has made its way to the Rockford area and we cannot wait to bring home the team trophy for Black Flag. Fuji events are a great place to test yourself as someone new to BJJ competitions.
