This past weekend, New York City played host to one of the most prestigious grappling tournaments of the year, the 2025 IBJJF No-Gi Pans Championships. Thousands of competitors stepped onto the mats looking to test themselves at the highest level, and among them was one of Black Flag’s own: Jeff Larsen.

Representing Pedigo Submission Fighting, Jeff put together one of the most impressive runs of his competitive career. He finished the day with a 4-1 record, racking up three submission victories and showing the kind of grit and technical sharpness that defines elite-level grapplers. His performance earned him a well-deserved silver medal at Adult Blue Belt Medium Heavy, proving yet again that he’s one of the nations toughest competitors.
IBJJF No-Gi Pans Team Trophy

This was another powerful showing for the entire Pedigo Submission Fighting team. With strong performances across multiple divisions, PSF earned 2nd place overall in the adult male team rankings, continuing to solidify its reputation as one of the premier grappling teams in the world.
Jeff’s run wasn’t an accident. It’s the result of countless hours on the mats at Black Flag, grinding through tough rounds, sharpening his game, and fully trusting the process. Whether it’s weight lifting in the mornings, competition prep in the evenings, or eco-sparing with intent, he’s the embodiment of the “work works” mentality.
Watching him execute that work on a major stage like IBJJF No-Gi Pans is a reminder of what’s possible when you stay consistent and believe in your training.
PSF Continues to Make Waves
The second-place team finish for Pedigo Submission Fighting was no small feat at IBJJF No-Gi Pans, especially given the size and caliber of the event. With standout competitors across all belt levels and weight classes, the PSF squad continues to raise the bar for what small-town, hard-nosed grappling programs can do on the world stage.
Whether you’re new to the sport or chasing gold yourself, performances like these show what’s possible with the right training room, the right team, and the right mindset.
